Making the world of crypto feel human
Crypto & Bean began with an unusual idea – bringing together the relaxed culture of a neighbourhood café with the fast-moving world of cryptocurrency. The concept aimed to create a space where conversations around blockchain and digital finance could happen as naturally as conversations over coffee. The brand therefore needed to translate a highly technical domain into something social, approachable, and culturally relevant. Our role was to shape this idea into a distinctive brand identity that felt modern yet welcoming.
Challenge
Connecting two very different worlds
Coffee culture is built around warmth, familiarity, and everyday rituals. Crypto culture, on the other hand, is associated with technology, speculation, and digital communities. Designing the brand meant finding a balance between these two contrasting worlds. The identity had to feel contemporary enough to resonate with crypto enthusiasts while remaining inviting for everyday café visitors.
The goal was to create a brand that didn’t feel overly technical or overly traditional, but instead positioned itself naturally between both cultures.
Brand & Packaging Design
Building a visual identity that blends digital culture with café life
The visual identity was designed to reflect the intersection of technology and coffee culture. Graphic elements explored subtle references to digital networks while maintaining the warmth associated with cafés. Typography, colour, and iconography were developed to create a modern yet approachable character for the brand. The system was built to remain flexible across multiple brand touchpoints, from signage and menus to merchandise and digital platforms.
Packaging became an important extension of the brand experience. Coffee cups, takeaway packaging, and other physical elements were designed to reinforce the identity while creating small but memorable interactions with the brand.
Outcome
A café brand shaped for modern communities
The final identity positions Crypto & Bean as more than just a coffee shop. It becomes a meeting point where technology conversations and everyday social interactions naturally intersect. By blending the language of digital culture with the familiarity of café rituals, the brand creates an environment that feels contemporary, distinctive, and welcoming – inviting people to explore new ideas over a cup of coffee.
