Project Overview

Designing the digital interface for a compact wearable ecosystem

The Xenxo S‑Ring is a multifunctional wearable designed to combine several everyday tools into a single compact device. The ring integrates features such as Bluetooth calling, gesture control, NFC payments, file storage, and fitness tracking within a small form factor worn on the finger.
To support this ecosystem, the mobile application needed to act as the central control interface. The app would allow users to configure the device, manage features, monitor activity, and interact with the ring’s capabilities in an intuitive way.
Wings was tasked with designing the mobile UX and UI that would translate the ring’s complex functionality into a simple, accessible digital experience.

Challenge

Simplifying a highly complex wearable

The Xenxo ring combines more than a dozen functionalities into a device no larger than a traditional finger ring. While the hardware was compact, the capabilities were extensive — ranging from communication features to safety alerts and digital payments.
The challenge was to design an app that could manage this ecosystem without overwhelming the user. Every interaction needed to feel immediate and effortless, allowing users to quickly understand how to configure the ring, activate features, and monitor activity.
At the same time, the interface had to reflect the futuristic and technology-driven character of the product.

Approach

Designing for clarity and quick interaction

The experience was structured around a clean and modular interface that organizes the ring’s features into intuitive categories. The goal was to ensure that users could quickly access key functions such as connectivity, gesture controls, notifications, and device settings.
The interface design adopted a minimal visual language, allowing the product and its functionality to remain the focal point. Clear iconography, structured navigation, and contextual micro-interactions were used to guide users through the system without requiring complex learning.
The design also emphasized quick accessibility, recognizing that wearable devices often require fast interactions rather than long browsing sessions.

Execution

A companion interface for wearable technology

The mobile application was designed as the central hub for managing the smart ring. From onboarding and device pairing to feature configuration and usage monitoring, every part of the product ecosystem was integrated into a cohesive interface.
Special attention was given to onboarding flows, helping new users quickly understand how the ring works and how its various features can be activated. The design balances technical capability with usability, ensuring that the product’s advanced features remain approachable for everyday users.

Outcome

A seamless bridge between device and user

The resulting application complements the hardware by translating complex technology into a streamlined mobile experience. The interface allows users to interact with the ring naturally while unlocking the full range of features built into the device.
The project also received industry recognition, earning a Silver Award in the Mobile Application category at the Maddy’s Awards, highlighting the impact of the UX/UI design.

“Wings didn’t just redesign our website; they reshaped how global buyers perceive us. Their team deeply understood our business and delivered a platform that’s both elegant and effective. We’ve seen stronger engagement, better feedback from partners, and now have a digital presence that truly reflects who we are.”
